Missouri vs. Ole Miss

The SEC tournament gets started today in Tampa, with the league’s bottom feeders squaring off. The first match-up on the docket is the most intriguing, as the 12^th seed (Missouri) takes on the 13^th seed (Ole Miss).

Neither team boasts much of a resume. The Rebels have the better record, coming in a 13-18 compared to the Tigers 11-20 mark. But Mizzou has been slightly better in conference, going 5-13 to Ole Miss’s 4-14 mark.

The Rebels come into the tourney sputtering. They’ve lost eight of their last nine, including four-straight game. A home loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday was one of the season’s low points.

Meanwhile, the Tigers come in with a little confidence. On Saturday, they snapped a six-game losing streak, beating Georgia by 10. Yes, the Bulldogs are another conference bottom feeder, but it did show that Mizzou could dispose of those types of teams.

They’ve certainly done it with Ole Miss this season. The Tigers won the two matchups between the two teams, notching 25- and six-point victories.

Expect that trend to continue in the SEC tournament.
