Colorado’s struggles continue as East Coast road trip wraps up
March 11, 2022
Avalanche at Hurricanes
PNC Arena – Raleigh, NC
7:00 PM ET
Colorado -110
The Avalanche remains the best team in the NHL. Colorado’s 41-12-5 record is hard to ignore. The Avs boast a roster with Hart (Nathan MacKinnon) and Norris (Cale Makar) Trophy candidates.
But lately, Colorado has been struggling. Mightily.
The Avs have lost three out of four, their worst stretch since starting the season 4-5-1. And it’s been ugly.
They surrendered three straight goals to the Islanders in the third period on Monday, turning a laugher into a tight game. And in Tuesday night’s loss to the Devils, Colorado gave up five consecutive goals.
Normally, it’s Colorado that scores in bunches. Of late, however, they’ve been giving up goals at an alarming rate.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are playing well. They’re 2-0 on their current homestand and 21-4-2 at home this season.
The trends suggest that the Avalanche’s skid continues. Colorado will end its East Coast road trip with another loss.
