Confetti that ushers in 2023 might not have time to hit the ballroom floor by the time SuperBook Sports Ohio goes live.
The company recently confirmed plans to accept its first Ohio sports bets at 12:01 a.m. with the start of New Year’s Day.
SuperBook Sports CEO Mark Lipparelli said his team is thrilled to be a part of the official launch of Ohio sports betting. He feels SuperBook offers trusted odds that help customers make informed decisions.
“The next few months will be lively in the sports betting world with bowl games and basketball. It’s a great time to get to know our betting lines and see for yourself why SuperBook is renowned.”
Ohio launches miss Buckeyes kickoff by a few hours
Ohio’s new sportsbooks won’t go live in time for Ohio State’s Peach Bowl appearance. The Buckeyes face Georgia in a national semifinal at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The game will likely end less than an hour before companies flip a switch to take the first bets.
But a Sunday launch carries good news, too.
Customers will have a full slate of NFL games to bet on right away. Plus, the traditional New Year’s Day bowls play out on Jan. 2, since New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday.
SuperBook on Monday said it plans to use a “lucrative sign-up bonus as well as sports-specific and timely offers” to lock in a piece of the Ohio market. Currently, 28 retail and online sportsbooks have the green light to go live in the Buckeye State on New Year’s Day.
