LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman stopped by the Westgate SuperBook on Thursday to place a wager on college basketball.
Wearing a mask and accompanied by a showgirl as he entered, Goodman enjoyed a large novelty cocktail before heading to the counter to make his bet.
The husband of Carolyn Goodman, Las Vegas’ current mayor, placed a $100 parlay on Wichita State and Michigan State to cover their respective point spreads in the First Four.
Unfortunately for Goodman, the bet was a loser: Michigan State, the favorite, lost to UCLA 86-80.
He still managed to come out ahead, cashing his ticket from the Super Bowl that paid out $300.
“You see that, everybody? You *can* win in Vegas,” Goodman said.
