A win in Houston could mean Colorado is the team to beat in MLS
March 19, 2022
Rapids at Dynamo
PNC Stadium – Houston, TX

After finishing atop the Western Conference with an impressive 61-point total – and then getting unceremoniously bounced from the MLS playoffs ahead of schedule – the Colorado Rapids appear to be a team on a mission. They stubbed their toe in the season opener against LAFC on the road, but rebounded nicely with back-to-back convincing home wins against Atlanta and Kansas City.
Houston, as has been the case lately, can’t get out of its own way. The Dynamo finished last in the West last year and eased into the 2022 season at 1-1-1.
Simply put, Colorado is the better team in this matchup, and head coach Robin Fraser was none-too-pleased with the Rapids opening road loss. Unfortunately for the Dynamo, the Rapids will look to avenge that loss in Houston tonight. Making matters worse, Colorado has won the last three head-to-head matchups and appears to have Houston’s number.
Houston’s Darwin Quintero has contributed to Houston’s last five goals and will be the biggest threat to a Colorado win. But don’t think for a second the Rapids won’t know exactly where he is at all times. Colorado rolls in Houston; count on it.
